About the event
Running every second Saturday of the month, UQ RTC will be continuing our partnership with the Tzu Chi foundation by providing mentorship and activities for their refugee outreach volunteering day. The day operates from their newly-renovated Brisbane office in Salisbury, and provides a wide range of support services to refugee families. As RTC tutors, we will be engaging younger students in play, hobbies, and activities. We will be assisting adults with conversational english, resume construction, household finances, as well as crafts and hobbies. This event is a brilliant starting point for both our English and Mandarin speaking tutors!
Tzu Chi provides a carpool service to collect volunteers.
The community centre has a lovely vegan coffee shop.
Tzu Chi provides a free lunch for the Tutors!
Lockers are available on site.
Wear Socks! In line with the traditions of Tzu Chi our tutors will leave their shoes at the door.
